SOS X/S/N Update and SOS ODEX Install Instructional Video

Great time to be a part of Swag Nation!

Today SOS X/S/N received the long-awaited update to VER 2.0.9.7 alleviating many bugs and reducing the ROM size by over 100MB. This also means that ODEX versions of the ROMs are no longer included in the installer. However, you can use SOS ODEX to ODEX SOS and have a snappier feel to your ROM.

Keep reading for a look at how to use SOS ODEX.

  4. I am running the ODEXED 2.0.9.4 SOS X do I still need to run the odex.cmd script if I am already odexed after installing 2.0.9.7?

    • Yes, 2.0.9.7 formats the system partition (like all ROMs do) and removes all of the ODEX files. The script is fairly fast and only takes about, oh, five to ten minutes.

Hi Swagstr, first the 2.0.9.7 installation, ice cream test and odex script went fine before booting as explained in the above video. Next I booted and noticed that my left and right icons on the dock were still as normal. So I used zip themer on the phone and browser to create the ics icons, went into recovery, flashed them and re-ran the odex script. I still have the placeholders after rebooting. What have I missed or did I do something wrong? I love your work and have been SOS since January. Thanks for your help.
